Spicy Chicken Stir-Fry (Ayam Paprik)
Oct 4th 2013, 00:08, by Rasa Malaysia

My college years in Kuala Lumpur (commonly known as “KL”), right after my high school and A-levels in Penang were one of the best times of my life. It was during those years in KL that I met Mr. Rasa Malaysia, and formed precious and lasting friendships with some of my best friends. Lots of beautiful memories, laughter, admirers (yep, I had lots of admirers in the college back then), and scrumptious foods. It was then that I fell in love with Malay cooking, or in this case, Thai-style Malay food. There are many Malay...

Anthony Bourdain, you can pretty much say whatever you like ... or at least you think you can. But when you call a Frito pie a "colostomy pie," then insist you like it, people get a little confused.

It is late afternoon at McCall’s Meat and Fish. The gleaming cases under the long counter fairly burst with pearlescent sea scallops and grass-fed Angus beef. The customers who straggle in rummage through packets of gravlax and stinky cheese on the refrigerated shelves before they get down to the serious business of what they might cook for dinner. Nathan McCall wanders in with a tiny baby girl in his arms, and for a moment my fellow carnivores and I are so overcome with the beauty of the newborn child that we briefly forget that we have come into the shop for meat.

Turmeric Chicken
Sep 30th 2013, 22:47, by Rasa Malaysia

If you read this blog, you will know that I love Malay cooking. Every time I go back to Malaysia, I never miss out Malay food, especially Malay nasi campur (rice plates) or nasi Melayu, where I get to choose the dishes to go with a plate of steamed white rice. I always go crazy with the wide selections—rendang, chicken in spicy sauce, sambal sotong, egg sambal, sambal okra, and the list goes on. Every single dish is so enticing and mouthwatering and I just wanted to eat them all. Sometimes, I would have 5 or 6 dishes on top of the steamed rice.
