Croissant-doughnut hybrids, test tube lab burgers , Krispy Kreme sandwiches and now, the Ramen Burger. What's the food world coming to with all of these Frankenstein creations? We're not exactly sure, but at least it keeps things interesting.

Choux pastry is a pastry dough used in many desserts, for example: cream puffs, profiteroles, French beignets, and gougères (cheese puffs). I have loved choux pastry since I was a child, snacking non-stop on cream puffs, not knowing that it was called choux pastry until much later in life. Now that I have a son, I often make choux pastry for him and offer it to him during snack time. He absolutely love it, even though he is a picky eater. What’s not to love about these light, fluffy, airy, buttery, and eggy pastry? What I love about choux pastry is that it’s so easy to make, takes only five (5)  ingredients that you will always have, and the baking process takes only 10 minutes. What’s more, once you make the choux pastry, you can easily make them into cream puffs, profiteroles, ice cream dessert (just add a scoop of ice cream), etc. You can also be creative and stuff...

When a recipe calls for zest, it's referring to the outermost layer of a citrus fruit -- that colored part of the skin that gives oranges, lemons and limes their vibrant hues. It's the zest that contains those rich, fragrant oils that give so much flavor to a dish or recipe.

Redlands' Thursday market gets more attention, but the Saturday one is home to small, local growers with fine produce.

Redlands is one of the last agricultural zones left in the Inland Empire, and its Saturday morning farmers market — though overshadowed by its giant Thursday brother — is thriving. But while the Thursday market seems to be primarily a social event, dominated by prepared foods, music and crafts, the Saturday morning market features many small, local growers who sell in person and offer a good balance of basic and specialty produce.
