If you were obsessed with the Kimchi Spam Bowl, and dismayed when the original Chego, the one in Palms, closed a few months ago, then you were probably all over the news that the new Chego 2.0, Roy Choi's rice bowl joint, has been transplanted into a faded walking mall, behind Ocean Seafood in downtown's Chinatown. Chego is all blasting reggae, sticky picnic tables in the courtyard, and frothing seas of Sriracha sauce that leave few dishes, including desserts, unscathed. A Chego banner, big as any Communist-era wall banner, is draped down the side of the building. Media files: 16x9

Although we were stuffed, we decided to try the buñuelos , and, boy, were they delicious! We live an hour away from the restaurant but would take the trip just to eat them again. The ultimate sea urchin experience Jul 6th 2013, 07:00, by By S. Irene Virbila Not everybody appreciates sea urchin, but Fishing With Dynamite, Providence and Il Grano come through for those who do. Prepare for some intense sea funk. I remember someone three seats down from me at Ginza Sushi-ko (the predecessor of Urasawa), eating an entire box of the ochre uni that Masa Takayama had specially sourced. Sometimes, if you were lucky, he'd hand you a cone of exquisite black green toasted nori filled with four or five skeins of sea urchin roe. For me, that will always be the ultimate sea urchin experience. Not everybody appreciates its almost unbearably intense sea funk. As with bottarga , you generally either love it or hate it. I'm decidedly in the first camp, happy to eat it on top of a buttered crostini or toast, tossed raw with hot spaghetti as they eat it in Puglia, or eaten raw out of the shell. Media files: 16x9
